A ‘Thread lift’ procedure essentially involves inserting threads in or beneath the skin to lift it for a more youthful appearance.
With ageing the skin starts losing its underlying support and becomes lax. Gravity takes advantage of this laxity and pulls the skin downwards and gives the face a droopy appearance. Thread lift addresses this very problem and helps the skin regain its lost support, thus improving the contour of the face.
The most common indications of thread lift procedure are:
- Correction of droopy face and jowls
- Double chin correction
- Improving skin texture and open pores
- Lifting acne scars
At our clinic we mainly use Cog threads and monothreads. Cog threads are used for lifting the facial skin and improving jowls, nasolabial folds, marionette lines and neck folds. Monothreads are mainly used to treat acne scars, open pores and improve skin texture.
