As a person ages, the volume under the skin is lost (more at certain points than other) for example cheeks of a female in the 50s compared the cheeks of a young female.
Dermal fillers are used to restore such volume loss. It gives a lift to the concerned area with improving the texture of the local skin due to improved hydration.
In modern aesthetic dermatology practice, the term “Dermal fillers” is synonymous with gel products made from different levels of crosslinking Hyaluronic acids, which imparts different viscosities in different products making them thick or thin to use in specific areas.
The most common indications for which people seek treatment include:
- Lines and wrinkles
- Loss of facial volume (cheeks, temple area)
- Sunken eyes
- Lip augmentation
- Jowl lift
- Depressed acne scars
- Lipoatrophy
- Brow lift
