CO2 Laser

CO2 LASER stands for Carbon dioxide LASER. It works by targeting the water content in the tissues and destroying them. In dermatology CO2 LASER is mainly used as a

  1. Surgical LASER to cut through the target
  2. Fractional LASER which damages the tissues in a graded fashion
  3. Vaginal rejuvenation mode

Surgical mode of CO2 LASER is used commonly to remove skin lesions like warts, skin tags, moles, birthmarks, keloids, etc. A single beam of LASER is targeted on the lesion destroying it.

Main advantage of a LASER surgery is a bloodless surgery with no contact with the instrument and hence avoiding any chances of infection.

Fractional Carbon Dioxide (C02) Laser Resurfacing removes layers of skin tissue in a fractionated method (columns of skin are removed), leaving the skin surrounding each column intact to aid in healing. In this process of healing new skin is laid down thus reducing spots, wrinkles, pores and improving the overall quality of skin drastically. Skin after healing feels fresh, tight, bright with a more even skin tone. Commonly used for improving scars, wrinkles, stretch marks and overall rejuvenation of the skin.

Vaginal rejuvenation mode – After certain age many women have complaints of loose vaginal tissue, pain while performing sexual intercourse, dryness, itching, frequent urinary tract infections, etc. These complaints are in part due to natural ageing process and in part due to hormonal imbalance. All these complaints can be relieved by Fractional treatment works on the same principle of fractional mode, with a different design of probe to deliver the LASER on to the vaginal walls and the vulval skin.
